He Has Risen

He is not here, for He has risen.

Matthew 28:6

The impact of this event was so significant that it changed the course of history.  Two-thirds of Americans commemorate this event annually, and nearly one-third of all people on earth would call themselves Christians because of this event.  It’s the single greatest miracle ever recorded.  The event?  The resurrection of Jesus Christ.

For a unique period of time in human history, God dwelt among us as man in the form of Jesus.  He willingly came to earth and took on the form of flesh to become fully human, only to be betrayed, beaten and eventually put to death on the cross.  Of course, we know that was not the end for Jesus. Three days later he was resurrected and is now seated at the right hand of our heavenly Father.

Jesus’ death and resurrection is celebrated around the globe each Easter season.  Traditions and customs vary, but they all memorialize the enormous price paid for our sins.  It is the greatest gift ever given to humanity.   Like the dawn of a new day, the resurrection of Jesus gave all of mankind a new dawn.  It only seems fitting that sunrise services are held on Easter.  I love attending them.  The symbolism of mankind’s “new dawn” is brought alive before your eyes with the rising of the sun…..in all of its beauty and splendor.

As a Christian you can have confidence in the forgiveness of your sins upon accepting Jesus as your personal Savior.  Jesus conquered sin and death for one express purpose – to offer us eternal life!  What better gift could any of us receive?!

His presence, power and authority are no longer confined to the heavenly realm or select prophets.  Jesus is available to all who desire to have a relationship with Him.  He is in every sphere of life.  His teachings can be trusted as truth.  How blessed we are to live in a time where we have direct access to our God.

Wherever you are for this Holy Week leading up to Easter, I pray that – like the spring rains that usher in new growth on the earth –  God would also water your soul this Easter.

Let us know; let us press on to know the LORD; His going out is sure as the dawn; He will come to us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth.

Hosea 6:3

Rejoice in His promises and forever presence with us!
